Immunize Colorado is pleased to announce a grant award from the Rose Community Foundation which will support a targeted intervention to raise immunization rates, well-child checks and Medicaid enrollment among refugee children in Aurora and Denver. The project will provide culturally-appropriate, language-of-origin outreach to a cohort of 2,800 refugee parents and serve as a model for health care providers state- and nationwide who see refugee children. This initiative will bolster critical health services to populations experiencing disparate health impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, including decreased immunizations, and provide important insight into reaching these communities when a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available.
