CCIC will receive a $30,000 grant from Rose Community Foundation to fund the organization's communications and community outreach activities, specifically immunization messaging strategies designed to improve evidence-based, data-informed policy making.

The purpose of this project is to create tailored, targeted immunization messaging and data visualization tools utilizing newly-available school and childcare data, as well as data from other sources, to educate and engage elected Colorado state legislators and the parents residing in their districts about the urgent immunization-related issues in their communities. The project will use formative research to gather information on emerging attitudes and beliefs about immunization among Colorado parents.

This initiative will aim to build public will among key Colorado lawmakers, and the parents residing in their districts to promote model immunization policy making and defend against growing anti-science rhetoric.

Rose Community Foundation makes grants to organizations and institutions serving the seven-county Greater Denver community in the areas of Aging, Child and Family Development, Education, Health and Jewish Life. Learn more at
