Personal Hero: My mom, as she is the most selfless, kind and strong person I know.
Hometown Fun Fact: NASA astronaut Scott Carpenter, the fourth American astronaut to go into space, grew up in Boulder, CO and went to the Univeristy of Colorado. A local park and pool named after him features a rocket-shaped climbing structure with a slide jetting out the side of it.
Favorite Thing to do in Colorado: A hike at Chautauqua Park in Boulder followed by brunch at Snooze AM Eatery.
Why Vaccinate: On a volunteer medical trip to El Salvador, I worked as a Spanish language translator and saw first-hand the immense benefits that immunization can have on a community. All children, no matter their circumstances, should have the opportunity to be protected from preventable disease so that they can be healthy, happy and thrive in their environments.
