Salymata Mbengue

Immunize Colorado welcomed Salymata Mbengue to the team as the organization's new Vaccine Equity Outreach Coordinator in March 2021. A graduate of the University of Colorado with a BA in integrative physiology and a certificate in public health, Saly previously served a medical assistant at Cherry Creek Pediatrics. She comes to Immunize Colorado with a wealth of clinical and patient care expertise and experience coordinating various outreach projects.

Favorite Movie/Book: Parasite (movie) / Pride and Prejudice (book)

Personal Hero: My mom; She’s taught me the power of having a positive outlook in life and unconditional love.

Hometown Fun Fact: Aurora, Colorado ranks number one for being the most diverse city in the state of Colorado.

Favorite Thing to do in Colorado: I love doing anything outside, and I will never say no to trying a new food spot.

Why Vaccinate: We are so fortunate to live in a time where vaccinations are available and free. We must never take for granted the advancements made in medicine, and our access to them. It is my belief that we are granted longer life spans as compared to the past, in part due to the innovation of vaccinations and their prevention of deadly diseases.
