Parent Outreach Tools to Encourage Vaccination

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant drop in childhood vaccinations in Colorado as many parents cancelled well-care appointments due to stay-at-home orders and fear of contracting coronavirus.

As families prepare to send kids back to school this fall (whether in person or virtually), it's important to make sure their children are caught up with recommended vaccinations and have the best information about where to get vaccines for their child. Immunize Colorado, in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics, Colorado Chapter and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, developed outreach tools for parents to help promote keeping up with their child's vaccines, even during COVID-19. We encourage school health professionals, doctors and other health care providers to distribute these resources to parents and to assist families in setting up well-care and vaccination appointments.
