Who We Are
Immunize Colorado (formerly the Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition) is dedicated to keeping Colorado communities healthy by building awareness for vaccines, educating health care providers, and advocating for policies that protect children with the goal of increasing childhood vaccination rates. As Colorado’s only statewide independent 501c(3) nonprofit organization committed to keeping Coloradans healthy through immunization, we elevate the essential role vaccines play in preventing illness and promoting health for all of Colorado.
From the Executive Director:
“We know that vaccines are a safe, easy, and cost-effective way to help prevent disease and keep children, adolescents and adults healthy throughout the lifespan. Research shows that children who are vaccinated experience fewer doctor’s visits, hospitalizations and premature deaths. In fact, vaccines averted 8,600 child hospitalizations in Colorado and saved $400 million in statewide hospital charges in just one year.
However, many Coloradans do not receive the vaccines needed to keep them healthy. With the help of our partners – healthcare providers, parents, community organizations, public health departments, businesses and policymakers – we strive to identify and advance solutions to challenges facing Colorado families and communities and ensure that everyone in our state is protected from vaccine-preventable disease.
We welcome you to join us in our efforts to keep Colorado communities healthy by becoming a Immunize Colorado member, supporting us by joining Team Vaccine Colorado, advocating for pro-vaccine policies as a member of Colorado Parents for Vaccinated Communities, serving as a volunteer or committee member, participating in our online community, or simply sharing the value of vaccination through your personal networks. Our success is dependent upon you!”
